Here is a look at a Force Recon built sometimes in the early to mid 1990s by Colin Thompson. Although the Force Recon wouldn't stand out as being Colin's finest work, it does echo a neat lever of customization and you can tell this paintgun was assembled from the parts that Colin had at the time.
This particular model is breech drop even though the rail is engraved as a Spirit. The removable cocker threaded barrel features a retained pump spring, Colin's standard front sight, a single breech drop pump arm (similar to a Ghost) and a bar under slung tank holder to take a 3.5 oz, 7oz or 10oz tank.
This pump was likely built by Thompson after he separated (and moved out from living with) Jon Sivers at Paintball Connection in San Diego. This woud have been after 1992/93. During this time Colin was working in various shops around the San Diego area.
I would estimate 100 or so Force Recons were assembled from parts by Colin around this time and this would be the same period he was making his stock class Ghosts and other more custom pumps.
